Happy Spring

Updated: Jul 13, 2022

Spring in Canada is a season of renewal and hope. As buds appear and flowers begin to blossom, our spirits are lifted. Spring is also a time of observances, festivals, and celebrations. Families across Canada and around the globe will be celebrating Easter this weekend, a significant occasion on the Christian calendar. Whether you join with others at church, share meals with loved ones, or help your children hunt for Easter eggs, I hope that it is an enjoyable and meaningful weekend. Happy Easter! Friday evening, at the conclusion of Shabbat, Jewish communities in Canada will join with others around the world to observe the beginning of Passover. As you gather around the Seder table to share symbolic foods like matzah and maror, drink wine, read from the Haggadah, and reflect on the story of the Exodus, may you experience the bonds of faith and love. Chag Pesach Sameach! On Thursday, the Sikh community in Canada and around the world will celebrate Vaisakhi, the holiest day in the Sikh faith. I hope that your gatherings at the gudwaras are joyful. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I also wish the Tamil community much happiness as they celebrate Puthandu at their temples and in their homes to welcome the beginning of a new year on April 14. Iniya Puthandu Nalvazhthukkal
