Ashura is an important occasion in the Islamic calendar that carries a spiritual and historical significance for both Sunni and Shia Muslims.

July 27 KOREAN WAR VETERANS DAY 

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement, which ended over three years of fighting on the Korean Peninsula.

July 30 WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS

Often described as a modern-day form of slavery, human trafficking occurs across the world and involves recruiting, moving, or holding victims, usually women and children to exploit them for profit, usually for sexual reasons or forced labour.

July 8 ISMAILI IMAMAT DAY 

On Ismaili Imamat Day, we join Ismaili Muslims in Canada and around the world to celebrate the accession of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV as the 49th hereditary Imam – spiritual leader – of Shia Ismaili Muslims.

Nunavut Day is an annual celebration that commemorates the creation of the Canadian territory of Nunavut in 1993
